What is a DentiClip?
This is a custom made removable appliance that fits over the existing teeth of a patient to enhance the overall appearance of the smile. It could be described as a clip on smile, flashy fangs or even pop-on poise. It is meticulously designed and individually manufactured to the highest standards of the dental profession by one of the best craftsmen in the industry.
What is the purpose of the appliance?
The appliance demonstrates how the aesthetics of one’s smile could be enhanced. This will boost self esteem, overall confidence and could truly be life changing. Although cosmetic appeal is a primary goal, functional inadequacies are also recognised and addressed in the planning and manufacturing of more sustainable solutions. Is it a painful process?
No, the existing teeth are not altered in any way and no preparation of tooth structure or injections are necessary. Can you eat while wearing a DentiClip?
NO, unfortunately the material currently used in the manufacturing of the appliance is not suitable to support the forces of chewing.
What care and maintenance are required?
Normal oral hygiene protocols must be adhered to and the appliance must be removed at least twice daily and both the appliance and the teeth must be cleaned thoroughly using a tooth brush and toothpaste. The appliance is not suitable to sleep with as bruxism could fracture the material. It is recommended that the patient consults with an oral hygienist or dentist regularly to maintain optimal oral health and address any unlikely adversities.
How long will the appliance last?
As the main function of the appliance is to demonstrate aesthetic advantages and assist in the planning of more sustainable options, it cannot be guaranteed against possible fractures. Depending on proper care and as long as the appliance is used only for public appearances, it could last a few months.

How much does this cost?

It will include a full check-up, x-rays, digital aids and impressions as well as recommendations for any necessary treatment. A detailed account will be given for purposes of claiming back any benefits that the patient might be entitled to from their insurance. The Denticlip is supplied as a complimentary, free of charge smile simulation to aid both the patient and the dentist in consideration of more sustainable solutions.
Will my medical insurance refund any portion of the cost?
This will depend on individual criteria and will vary from company to company. We will supply you with a detailed estimate with the relevant codes for your insurance company to assess possible benefits you may be entitled to.
As the fees charged for this is in accordance to the recommended tariffs prescribed by Medical Insurance Companies, everything should be refunded. The reality is that regardless of the reasons as to why your smile could have been
compromised or has deteriorated over the years, the fact of the matter that this is now not only a cosmetic problem but that a multitude of functional and emotional challenges also negatively affect your well-being.
